I Don't Feel Like Blogging Today

I got the job at PetSmart and start Monday 10-4. I'm not so excited about working the morning shift, but that's life. I got my khakis and black shoes last week, have my driver's license and social security card ready, and am ready to start. I still have to see how long it's going to take to walk there because I really have no idea. I'm not crazy about the idea of walking across Gratiot, but I guess that's life too.

That's all I really have to say. I just thought I'd blog because I haven't in a while.

  1. I'm happy for you that you got a job. Working in the morning really isn't that bad, at least once you get your sleep schedule figured out.

    Miss you lots!

  3. Think of the walking as a bonus. You'll be unpoor, and fit! Yay.

  4. The thing is that there's no sidewalk most of the way there. There's also a pretty steep ditch and the onramps to I-94 that I have to pass. Then I have to cross a road where people generally drive 65 because they can, without a decent crosswalk.

So I'm muddy, sore, and bleeding from my feet. Oh, how I love my fitness.

  6. Answered my own question...

    Service Description:
    Curb to Curb advance reservation

    Service Hours:
    5:30 a.m. -7:30 p.m.

    Reservation Requirements:

6 days in advance for medical, 1-2 days for non medical.

    Reservation Number:
    1 (866) 962-5515

    Reservation Hours:
    7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

    Cost:
    $2.00

So, for $4.00 a day you can save yourself from being muddy, sore and bleeding from your feet. It will pick you up at the curb and take you to 23 & Gratiot (where the bus connection is located).

  7. I can't afford $4 a day. Thanks for the advice, though. I never thought of taking the bus. There's actually a stop right in front of the complex, but I overlooked it. The walk would have been just fine, if I had a slightly more appropriate pair of shoes. The thing is I wear a really odd size, and only one company makes shoes that really fit me right (wide enough without being way too long).
